CHILDREN
This book consists of eight simple miniatures, built up using a specific composition technique, ideal for teaching the piano (such as in DKO). The atmosphere and tonality are of uttermost importance in this book – just like they are in all of Van Marcke’s work.
PIANO PIECES I
This book consists of five compositions in which the composer evokes a post-classical atmosphere, based on a source of inspiration (Mozart, Messiaen, Pachabel…). Technically, these pieces were written for an advanced pianist.
PIANO PIECES II
This book consists of five compositions (containing Changes which was awarded the Bap Sabam/Jazzthema’s Hoeilaart prize) in which the composer works with the idiom “written improvisation” with a number of complex melodic and rhythmical elements. This results in a accessible and tonal atmosphere.
TRINITY
A suite in the musical spirit of Chick Corea: melodic, rhythmic, adventurous.
Originally written for vibraphone and rearranged for piano.
